Drama: Creative Clusters visited school for 10 weeks. Children from 2nd-6th, doing a play which was performed in March.

Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to Scoil Maighdine Mhuire, Broadford National School (Broadford NS Kildare), a small and welcoming primary school in Broadford, North Kildare, where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to thrive.

Located in the heart of the local community, Scoil Maighdine Mhuire is a friendly rural national school serving families in Broadford and the surrounding North Kildare area. Our school has a strong sense of belonging where children feel safe, cared for and proud to be part of their school.

Because we are a small school, pupils quickly get to know one another and strong friendships develop across all classes. Older children naturally support younger pupils, creating a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels part of the school community. Each morning it is a pleasure to see children arriving at Broadford NS Kildare, greeting one another and settling happily into the day ahead.

Our dedicated staff provide a high-quality primary education in Broadford, County Kildare, with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and wellbeing. Learning is active and engaging, with opportunities for creativity, play, outdoor learning and personal development alongside the core curriculum. Our classrooms are welcoming places where children are encouraged to be curious, confident and enthusiastic learners.

We are fortunate to have a supportive Board of Management and parents’ community, all working together in the best interests of the children and the wider school community.

Situated beside the local church, Scoil Maighdine Mhuire has a proud Catholic ethos, where kindness, respect and care for others are central to school life. We believe education is about supporting children to grow not only academically, but also as thoughtful, responsible and caring individuals.

As principal, I feel very lucky to be part of such a special school community. Scoil Maighdine Mhuire Broadford is a warm and welcoming place where children learn, grow and form lasting friendships. We hope this website gives you a sense of what makes Broadford NS Kildare such a special place for children and families.
